Carlos Whittaker is in the house!!!!

January 26, 2010 1 comment

So today I just wanted to send out a special invite for one of the most passionate men I know. Carlos hails from the west coast where he spent 10 years as the Worship and Creative Arts Pastor. More recently he has spent the past 3 years at Buckhead Church, working with Andy Stanley in the Atlanta area. But his story goes far beyond his “jobs” in church… Carlos is someone that understands innately what it means to bring people to worship, whether through times when he’s leading worship at a church, through his coaching network, helping other creatives reach new levels in success in crafting environments for worship, Or through his writings on I chose today to give him a shout out however, because today is a special day to him. Today marks the release of his EP on itunes! I wanted to give you all a chance to grab a copy of it, and make it yours! I’ve already listened through it and I’ll tell you it’s worth WAY more than the money… So HERE’s the iTunes link, check it out and pick it up! Let me know what you think!!! Los is a great man, who I’m sure would always love to make a new friend or 2. He’s got a video introducing the EP on his blog HERE, but this video found a special place in my heart the first time I saw it and I had to put it in here.. Enjoy!

Church Canceled?

December 20, 2009 Leave a comment

Today a lot of the churches in our area, including mine, have canceled their services due to the amount of snow that we’ve gotten over the past 2 days and the complete lack of equipment that our area has to deal with all of it. Therefore I figured today would be a good day to just give you guys some options. I wanted to go ahead and give you a few of the churches that I on a semi-regular basis will log into to enjoy church from my couch. These are all phenomenal churches, and I challenge you to check a couple of them out. They have kicking ministries both online and off. So here we go…

North Point Online

This is one of Andy Stanley’s churches, where you’ll always get some amazing worship tied into a very applicable sermon. Andy connects with his listeners in ways to show them God’s design for their lives. The service on North Point Online starts at 6 p.m. EST

NewSpring Church

I log into this church every chance I get. NewSpring Church is lead by Pastor Perry Nobel. To put it softly Pastor Perry has no problem bringing it home. His church lives to see lives chanced and to help people far from God meet Jesus. Perry also has no problem sucking the air out of the room. His vivacious spirit and awesome preaching will continually challenge your walk, as well as push you to live an all out, head first, life for Christ. Services online here are on Sundays at 11:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. EST and 11 a.m. Pacific as well as Tuesdays at 11:45 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST.

Well, I dare say this is the church that started the online revolution and showed us how real church online could be. I can’t even list all the services they offer, so I challenge you to check them out! They have services going on CONSTANTLY. To check out service times go to . I’m sure you’ll love Craig Groeschel’s awesome application as he brings a solid message and shows God’s love for us.

So there we go, check these guys out! Let people know in the comments if you have other live services going on that we might enjoy! Happy Sunday!

Miss Meredith Dunn

What to even say about this one… Meredith Dunn is someone that I had the same major as at Liberty (though I was a year ahead), had a handful of the same friends, and yet somehow I didn’t get to know her at all until after we were both done and gone from Lynchburg VA. She’s now out in Colorado working for Compassion International as a Donor Services Specialist basically helping to let people know how their donations have been put to use and more excitingly what has been accomplished due to the donations made. Beyond that, her stories on her blog will not only give you a good laugh but they will touch your heart and you will feel like you know Meredith the first time you read it. I promise you, she is every bit as entertaining as she is beautiful! Enjoy!

Pastor Daniel Floyd

Pastor Daniel is a personal one for me, not only is he an awesome pastor, leading a wonderful church but I consider him a good friend. He leads the church that I attend on Sundays as well as pour much of my energy into serving on the production team. He has a heart for those far from God and unashamedly preaches His word in a way that is easy to hear, and relate to while not watering it down or sugar coating the message. You can check out his messages on itunes or even on our church website at If you’re ever in the Fredericksburg area hit us up, and stop on by one of our production booths… I’m probably there somewhere! 😉

Leaders, followers, and everyone in between!

Alright guys, I’ve got some big news. As I have mentioned in the recent past I’ve been working on a couple of projects that I’ll be sharing more about soon. But in addition to that I had something else I wanted to share with you. Along with trying to get this blog started back up I wanted to try to let you know where I’m coming from. I am someone that’s constantly networking, stretching my network, and utilizing it to the best of my abilities to bring people from different corners of it together to help people fulfill goals. One of the ways that I am beginning to do this, is by networking other bloggers who I have connections with in different arenas. So what I will start doing over the next few weeks in between my normal blogging is to just share with you one of my featured fellow bloggers whom I follow and a bit about them. I hope that by doing this we can begin to bring each of our networks together just a little bit more and become more united in this little internet space we share. I encourage each of you, if you blog, send me a message. Let me see who you are! I want to get to know you guys! I encourage your comments, and look forward to starting dialogues with you. If you follow me on here, or on twitter, please connect with me on facebook also. I’m curious to get to know you guys, and to know how I can help you out and how at some point in the future you might be able to help me out. So anyway, I’ll be starting this, this week. Looking forward to it guys! You all are great!

Big Change Ahead!

To all my readers that have been probably stopping by on a more and more irregular basis I AM alive, and I am trying to get back to posting on here more frequently. The past few months have been a whirlwind as I have changed jobs, continued my work at the church, and begun a few new projects. God’s thrown me some curve balls and I have accepted them and been doing my best to learn from them. All of these things I tell you to let you know that I have had a good few posts building up that I will do my best to push your way over the up coming couple of weeks. From personal introspection, to spiritual reflection, it could be an interesting few posts…even for me as I write them. I also hope to release some information about a couple of projects that are in the process of being launched that I couldn’t tell you how stoked I am about! But for now, thanks for reading and I hope you’ll help spread the word. I’m Back!!!

The beginning of innovation

October 19, 2008 Leave a comment

When a brand is attempting to grow it’s less about throwing a ton of money at advertising and more about putting the systems in place to allow it to grow strong. As the baby booming generation continues to grow older and the “Xers and Yers” are beginning to grow into the work force the field of marketing has grown out of an advertising field and more of a systems field.

This systems field is a field driven by product design and innovation, strategic placement in the market place, marketing research, and sales and promotional strategies. As marketeers, we can no longer just look at a project and figure out how to throw it in front of the right people, we have to take the people and design the product in such a way that they will use it. This is a result of the ubiquity of information as well as a response to the number of companies, products, and services, that are offered to every individual in society at any moment now.

Over the next few days, months, years, I want to take a look at different objects in todays world and begin to explore how marketing innovation has changed the way these things are viewed. Hopefully these insights will interest you. I know they will me. Happy reading… First one begins Monday!
